How WeMind's Image Exposure makes the invisible visible
Jul 23, 2026

Long before a client has words for what happened to them, they usually have a picture. WeMind's Image Exposure lets you work with that picture directly.
What is Image Exposure?
EMDR has worked with imagery since its earliest form, targeting a single remembered picture and desensitizing it. WeMind's Image Exposure brings that same principle into the session itself: choose an image from the library, or upload one, including one your client generated with an AI tool, show it to them, and run bilateral stimulation as an overlay directly on top of it.
One clinician described using this with a client working through a sugar addiction: the image they landed on was a vulnerable infant suspended in liquor, capturing an attachment wound in a way words hadn't. That's the point of the feature, it doesn't invent the image, it gives the client a way to show you the one they already have.
The impact: the goal was never a technically perfect picture, it's one your client looks at and recognizes immediately as exactly right.
How it works
Open your session in WeMind
Choose an image from the library, or upload your own
Stream it so your client sees exactly what you see
Turn on bilateral stimulation and go full screen when you're ready
That simple: switch to a grounding image and back to the target without leaving the session, no printing, no second app.
From resource figures to unburdening
Image work in EMDR covers more ground than exposure alone. A floatback might surface a memory of a terrified child on the deck of a ship, worked through until the image itself shifts toward courage. A resourcing exercise might bring in figures a client already trusts, then pair them with bilateral sets to strengthen a felt sense of safety. Parts work can go further still: giving a protector part or a wounded, exiled part an image at all is often what makes it possible to work with.
What you get with every image:
Images from the library or your own upload, AI-generated included
Bilateral stimulation as an overlay, left and right
Full-screen mode, so the image is the only thing your client sees
Works for exposure, resourcing, floatbacks, and parts work
In the room or on a call, same image
The image streams the same way whether your client is sitting across from you or joining remotely, nothing about the exercise changes with the setting.
One image, either setting: what your client sees, and how the bilateral stimulation runs, stays identical.
Nothing about the image leaves the session
The image you show, and anything your client uploads, stays inside that session. Nothing is saved elsewhere once it closes.
Fully HIPAA and GDPR compliant, with end-to-end encryption and secure storage throughout.
Before you start: save any image you want to bring back later, once the session ends, it doesn't carry over on its own.
One picture. One doorway.
